Start-up invites you to a virtual trade fair stroll at "EXPO-X"
Major events are currently suspended until at least 31.08.2020 - this also includes trade fairs, congresses and conferences. No reason for Jena-based rooom AG to do without these forums: In the online camp "JenaVsVirus", the start-up developed a concept for how trade fairs and conferences can take place in the digital space in future. The virtual trade fair "EXPO-X" is set to kick off on June 1, 2020.
Many companies are losing the opportunity to meet new customers and maintain existing contacts due to the loss of trade fairs. As a result, companies are missing out on new orders and important sales - not just in Jena, but worldwide,
Hans Elstner, CEO of rooom AG, describes the problem.
There is also a lack of professional exchange as an important component of such events.
Elstner and his team have developed a solution based on their innovative 3D technology: A virtual trade fair that enables companies to design three-dimensional virtual trade fair stands and come into direct contact with visitors there. Interested parties can talk to each other via video chat; accompanying conferences can also take place via live streaming and online presentations.
EXPO-X offers an authentic trade fair experience
According to Elstner, this type of meeting is not anonymous.
The aim is to provide as realistic and authentic a trade fair experience as possible. In order to make contacts, a virtual business card is just as much a part of this as a personal avatar - a digital representative created using a full-body photo.
According to rooom AG, important product presentations are also possible as at any trade fair - only in a 3D model. This means that products can also be viewed three-dimensionally from home using virtual reality. If the online trade fair stand is adapted to your own company layout, it can also be integrated into your own website - as a permanent showcase for your own product and service portfolio, so to speak. Workshops, conferences and presentations can also be experienced at EXPO-X.
The virtual exhibition grounds will open on June 1. The virtual trade fair experience is free of charge for visitors; exhibiting companies can present themselves digitally with various service packages. According to Hans Elstner, no special technical requirements are necessary; a computer with normal Internet access is sufficient. In addition to the main EXPO-X trade fair, there will also be industry-specific trade fairs and events in other halls, such as the "Investor Days Thuringia 2020" or the congress of the German Society for Neurosurgery.
An innovative alternative from Jena
While major trade fairs such as the Hannover Messe, the International Tourism Exchange ITB and the Leipzig Book Fair have been canceled, EXPO-X offers an innovative alternative for companies from all sectors to present themselves and their own product portfolios. We are delighted that the innovative 3D technology was developed in Jena and are happy to support the new format. We use EXPO-X itself to digitally present Jena as a business and science location,
says Wilfried Röpke, Managing Director of the Jena Economic Development Corporation.
