Around 100 companies at the market - photo shoot and portfolio check included

The countdown is on: on 03.06.2023 it's "Stroll and apply" again on Jena's market square. For the fourth time, Jobwalk Jena invites you to "Stroll and Apply". Around 100 regional companies will present themselves and their wide range of career opportunities in an informal setting at the fully booked open-air career fair. Visitors can also check their application folders and have professional application photos taken on site. The job walk is organized by the Erlangen agency augenmaß.

"Due to the great demand from companies, we are organizing the largest job walk in the city on the Saale to date," says augenmaß boss Peter Böttger. "We are retaining the tried and tested concept: Employers from the skilled trades to high-tech, from world concerts to start-ups will be introducing themselves to interested citizens." During a Saturday stroll through the city, people can find out about the diversity of local companies and get into conversation with each other in an uncomplicated way. "We will also be displaying around 1,000 specific job vacancies from the exhibiting companies on the 'Jobwall' at Hanfried."

This year, particular attention will be paid to the young target group, as there is a shortage of young talent in all areas of the regional economy. The organizers have come up with numerous new ideas to score points with pupils and students. Among other things, there will be an advertising tour at the universities and in the city with a slackline course in May to promote a visit to Jobwalk Jena.

"We have also prepared various competitions that will make you want to be there on 3 June at the Jena marketplace," says organizer Peter Böttger.

Daniela Drilltzsch, Project Manager at the Jena Economic Development Agency (JenaWirtschaft), also knows how important it is to focus on young talent:

"The best way for pupils to get their bearings is through internships in a specific professional field - but to do this, they first need to know the companies and their training or internship offers."

The open-air fair offers an ideal opportunity for companies and their potential trainees to meet in an uncomplicated way for an initial discussion.

This uncomplicated exchange is one way in which innovative recruiting can be organized, says Wilfried Röpke, Managing Director of Wirtschaftsförderung Jena:

"All of Jena's industries, whether craft businesses or high-tech companies, need qualified personnel." This diversity is also reflected in the list of exhibitors: "On June 3, innovative research start-ups will be presenting themselves, as will the optics and healthcare industries, the digital sector and the manufacturing industry. Around half of the companies are typical Jena SMEs: efficient craft, service and commercial businesses," says Röpke.
