Jena presents itself for the 8th time at the polis Convention

"Jena goes Düsseldorf" - for the 8th time, the city of light Jena is taking part in the city and project development trade fair polis Convention. The Jena Economic Development Agency (JenaWirtschaft), the Jena Municipal Real Estate Company (KIJ) and the Department of Urban Development and Environment will be jointly promoting Jena as an investment location in Düsseldorf on 24 and 25 April 2024. The event will be accompanied by the "polis Award" competition - the German Optical Museum (D.O.M.) has been nominated for one of the prizes.

Jena, together with the cities of Leipzig, Halle (Saale) and Dessau-Roßlau, is taking part under the umbrella of the "European Metropolitan Region of Central Germany".

"We are presenting current projects from municipal, institutional and private players in our city,"

says Markus Henkenmeier, authorized signatory of the Jena Economic Development Agency.

These include the upcoming development of the Eichplatz site, as well as the marketing of further building plots in the Am Oelste residential area. "We are delighted that we can once again offer interested citizens and investors plots of land in the Jena city area," explains KIJ site manager Beate Wachenbrunner:

"The polis Convention offers optimal conditions to discuss municipal challenges regarding investments, real estate project development and sustainability in a professional manner."

Prof. Dr. Timo Mappes, founding director of the German Optical Museum, will also be in Düsseldorf. Together with the D.O.M., the city's trade fair team has submitted an application for the polis Award in the "Reactivated Centers" category in advance.

"We are delighted to have been nominated for the award and are of course keeping our fingers crossed that we will win the polis Award on Wednesday evening,"

says Mappes. The nomination alone as one of the five outstanding urban development projects in Germany is already a great success.

The polis Convention is attended by around 7,000 experts every year and has established itself as a fixed meeting point for the industry alongside the annual EXPO Real in Munich in the fall.
